Why do LGBTQ+ individuals seek therapy?
Being part of the LGBTQ+ community comes with unique joys and challenges. Therapy offers a safe and affirming space to explore your identity, navigate personal struggles, and heal from past experiences.
Whether you’re coming out, questioning your identity, or seeking tools to manage external stressors like discrimination, therapy can help you build resilience, self-acceptance, and confidence in your authentic self.
LGBTQ+ individuals often seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including coping with anxiety, depression, or trauma; processing experiences of rejection or marginalization; or simply exploring ways to live a more fulfilling life. Therapy can also be a space for celebrating your identity and finding ways to thrive in environments that may not always feel supportive.
Success comes from working with a therapist who understands your journey and can provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment for growth and healing.
Therapy can be empowering.
I am an affirming therapist for LGBTQ+ individuals seeking help as they navigate the challenges society presents.
For over 30 years, I have been a licensed clinical social worker who has provided compassionate, affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals. Evidence-based approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) are the tools I use to help clients navigate the challenges of identity exploration, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being.
My practice is built on the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued for who they are. With a holistic approach that considers mental and physical well-being, I strive to create a space where you can feel supported and empowered to embrace your true self.
Whether you’re processing life’s challenges or seeking personal growth, I am here to help guide and affirm your journey. Contact me for more information on how I can help.
